How many volts do spark plugs run on?

I know that it gives off 20,000+ volts but i need to know how much voltage i need as an input voltage.How many volts do spark plugs run on?There are actually different voltages going to the coil. The full voltage of the battery (a little over 12 volts) goes to the coil while the ignition key is in the start position, and when the key is released, and goes to the run position the voltage is reduced about 15%. Voltage out of the coil ranges 20,000 to 100,000 volts and across the spark plug gap.



So a recap... voltage in - 6 to 8 volts, voltage out - 20k to 100k volts.
