How does a combustible engine work? How do the pistons propel the car forward (not talking about spark plugs)?

When the pistons are going up and down, how does that contribute to the acceleration of the car?How does a combustible engine work? How do the pistons propel the car forward (not talking about spark plugs)?as the pistons move up and down they turn the crank shaft, this is linked to the transmission which is either linked to the drive shafts(front wheel drive)or the prop shaft(rear wheel drive) which are linked to the wheels. is that simple enough for you??

obviosly the faster the pistons are moving the faster everything attached to them moveHow does a combustible engine work? How do the pistons propel the car forward (not talking about spark plugs)?simply put...the pistons move up and down the energy is transferred to the cams. The CAMS THEN transfers that kinetic energy to the transmission, which delivers the energy to the wheels Via a CV Joint/axle (for front wheel drive vehicles). The energy is delivered via the drive shaft in rear wheel drive vehicles. How does a combustible engine work?
